What 3 words can save your life?

What? It’s impossible to save your life in 3 words. First of all, when writing a single digit number one should write it out — three instead of 3. What is going on here? What 3 words?

Brief explanation of what 3 words

What 3 words can save your life by locating you precisely when you need to be found. OK, which damn 3 words is it? Well, it’s a random 3 words brought up by the app What3Words. Go to your app store now and search on What3Words. It is an app that generates a unique 3-word combination for every 10 square feet on the entire Earth. Don’t ask me how it does it, but it does. Get it. Free. Fun. Interesting. Highly useful. Find the company here.

Imagine an EMS call that can pinpoint you in the back yard, not just at your front door address. What if you are hunting, not even totally lost yourself, but emergency services does not know the terrain features on your ranch? How about the brush fire that is “about” a 1/4 mile off the County Road XXX?

Usage cases for the app — emergency services and personally

As teased above, every emergency service — Police, Fire, EMS — can serve you better if you can be precisely located. Where I live, the Texas Hill Country / Highland Lakes has billions of 10-foot squares in which you might be located other than a nice street address. Even that is not precise. Imagine a home compound with a 4,000 sq ft house, plus a pool area, barn and mother-in-law house. Get the idea.

What to do

Contact your local emergency services and suggest they have the app in their 911 call center. It is available in both the Google Android and Apple iPhone stores. And it’s free.

Thanks for stopping. Don't be a drive-by, leave a comment.
