This is a Zoom equipment update to my previous recommendations — this one aimed at the lawyers so that the mediator can participate better. See my earlier suggestions talking about the Logitech boom/mic headset, the Logitech C930e webcam, and a conference mic. Here is the better conference mic which I saw spoken about by a tech-savvy lawyer.
Zoom equipment, Microsoft Teams equipment — these items can be used in any teleconferencing or telephone conference situation.
Why should lawyers use this type speaker system? An example. Recently I did a mediation with the lawyer and client at a conference table. A computer was set up at the end of the table and the client was closest to the computer, i.e. me. From the far end of what I guess was a 6-foot conference table I could barely hear the lawyer. Add poor room acoustics to that and a barely-audible and echoey (sp?) voice was tough to listen to.
A device such as this, placed in the center of the conference table, will do much better. This type speaker/mic would also be good at the family gathering around the dinner table while talking or Zooming with the remote family.
