Hi, subscriber,

This is a special edition of the JJNL. My purpose in sending is the timeliness of this information -- webinar is TOMORROW -- and I thought it important enough to pass on. Copied verbatim from the State Bar notice ... in case you missed it ....
Last Chance: Register Now for Final Rules Vote Public Forum Webinar

Texas lawyers are being called upon to exercise their right of self-governance by voting on proposed amendments to the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct and Texas Rules of Disciplinary Procedure. Voting started February 2 and will continue until 5 p.m. CST March 4 by paper and electronic ballot. (Please note that mailed ballots must be received by the deadline.)

The final public forum for the 2021 rules vote will take place via webinar on the following date:
The event will include a one-hour CLE presentation* on the proposed disciplinary rule amendments (approved for one hour of MCLE ethics credit) featuring members of the Committee on Disciplinary Rules and Referenda and its counsel, followed by a live forum where attendees can ask questions and provide comments regarding the proposed amendments.

Please note that the event will begin with the same CLE presentation from the prior webinars, but will be followed by a live session.

Registration is free and open now.

If you can’t make it to the live event, a recorded version will be available on demand. Go to texasbar.com/rulesvote and read the January and February issues of the Texas Bar Journal to learn more about the proposals.

*This course has been approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit by the State Bar of Texas Committee on MCLE in the amount of one credit hour, of which one credit hour will apply to legal ethics/professional responsibility credit. For more information, go to texasbar.com/rulesvote.
